Couture fit, but a one-line text box.
Surahi’s kurta sets are hand-embroidered and cut for each customer. But online, getting a custom fit meant typing everything into one small “Personalized size” field — or sending measurements on WhatsApp.
- GuessworkOne free-text box. Customers didn’t know which measurements to give.
- Wrong numbersNo guide on how to measure — so bust, hip and lengths came back inconsistent.
- Back-and-forthThe team had to chat with every buyer to confirm sizes before cutting fabric.

A tailor’s measuring session — inside the product page.
We designed Made to Measure as a proper fit experience, not a form. One tap switches the page from Standard Size to Made to Measure, and the buyer is guided through everything a karigar needs.
- 1Switch the fitStandard Size or Made to Measure — a clear toggle, right where size used to be.
- 29 measurements, in inchesHeight, shoulder, bust, waist, hip, sleeve, bicep, kurta length and bottom length — laid out in a clean two-column grid.
- 3How to measure, for every fieldA tape icon beside each box opens a guide for that exact measurement — so numbers come back right the first time.
- 4Notes for the tailor“Relaxed fit, sleeves till the elbow” — the personal touch a couture client expects.
- 5Pick deliveryStandard (ready in 15 days, included) or Express (10 days, + ₹3,400) — priced clearly before checkout.

Rare in Indian ethnic-wear e-commerce.
Most stores offer standard sizes only, or a single text box. Surahi now does what a boutique tailor does — guided measurements, notes and delivery choice — on a regular Shopify product page, without a separate app or a phone call.
